Development

After doing up some designs I have came to an almost final. Here is the almost final I have come up with.

I feel the yellow background works the best as it appeals to both girls and boys.

Box/Bag Ideas

 These are some ideas that I have come up with for what the box or bag could look like I will be trying to make it as appealing to the age group.

Strawberry Shortcake

I feel to get across to this age group I am going to need a character. So I will now do some designs up of different strawberry like characters.

I though I would reference this character as I remember her from my childhood and she may become a reference later in the project as I may add a character to the packaging.

She has changed over the years of designs.

Toy Packaging

As I have already said I am basing this design from ages 3 to 6. So I have done some research into the packaging of toys of this age to see if it would give me any ideas on designs to make the fruit package just as attractive as a new toy.

I decided before looking at toy packaging I would have a little look at what strawberry packaging is already out there. Here are some below. I found some really nice ones

Fruit Packaging

Most fruit packaging are as I though. Plain and not really eye catching. Like the ones below.

Yet to my surprise I did find some nice designs. That were a bit more attractive that the usual fruit you would find. Like the ones below.

What the market needs

To me I feel the market needs something that is going to make children want to eat fruit. I feel were better to start than to get the youth to get fruit. I'm going for one fruit, the strawberry. Its better to start simple that to use all fruits. As I was a full time babysitter fruit like apples, oranges, melons and grapes are a very plain looking fruit and its very hard to get children to eat something that isn't that good looking.

I am more involved with children from the ages 3 to 6 so this is the age group I will be going for. I am going to come up with a new packaging  I am going to research packaging already out there, maybe not for children but to give myself and idea of what is already there. I am also going to research packaging for toys and what I could come up with to make strawberrys look just as inviting as a new toy.
